This best selling tour takes you on a scenic and rural drive from Holyhead to the other side of Anglesey island. We have a photo stop in the village with the longest name in Europe before travelling just down the road to a toll house, which opened in 1826 along with the opening of the London to Holyhead mail coach road and stunning Menai suspension bridge. This saw the beginning of the Women’s Institute in the UK during WWI and the ladies of the WI on Anglesey will provide a home cooked buffet lunch. There’ll be a short talk on the history of the toll house plus the development of the WI, which began in Canada. After lunch we take a scenic drive to the pretty seaside town of Beaumaris, with its foreboding medieval castle, 1604 court house and Victorian pier before returning to your ship. This tour is available ONLY from Holyhead. Price will depend on the size of your group.
