Island Views and an Historic Medieval Town ex Holyhead

Ellin's Tower and South Stack Lighthouse - Fun Tours Wales

Our first stop is to South Stack Lighthouse and Ellin’s Tower.  Just 10 mins drive from Holyhead port, the setting is spectacular so cameras are a must.  Note there are a number of steps (some with no handrail) down to Ellin’s Tower but if you don’t feel up to this, there are still wonderful coastal views.

We then take a scenic drive along the coast to the popular seaside town of Trearddur Bay, passing the Ghost House!  We then make our way over Four-mile bridge to the main A55 expressway for our next stop to the longest name in Europe: Llanfairpwllgwngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!  There is a railway station here with this long name, along with your chance to take home a few mementoes of your visit to Wales in the Pringles store, or you may decide to try the local beer in the nearby Welsh pub.

We then head along the eastern side of Anglesey island following the Menai Strait water to the medieval town and castle of Beaumaris.  This is your chance to have lunch, take a stroll along the pier, visit the 13th century castle or 17th century courtroom, plus there’s an eclectic mix of local shops and cafés dating back hundreds of years..  We then head back to your ship in Holyhead.
