You’ve probably heard of the Yukon or California gold rushes, but we had our very own here in Wales. The Romans first started to find gold in South Wales, but the real Welsh gold rush took place in the pretty market town of Dolgellau in Snowdonia, North Wales. This full day tour will take you through the mountains of Snowdonia National Park, then as the scenery changes to wooded valleys we come to Dolgellau on the Wnion river. Built of beautiful grey stone, the village takes you back in time to the days when gold and copper were discovered just outside the town. This tour is available from Abergele, Betws y Coed, Caernarfon or Llandudno.
